After medical school at the University of Berne (1990-1996), completed by a MD thesis in 1998, PD Dr. med. Andrea Humm trained as a neurologist in Berne and London with acquisition of a FMH title in Neurology in 2008. Already during specialist training, she had a particular interest in clinical neurophysiology with certificates obtained for ENMG and EEG (2008) as well as for sleep medicine (2009). In parallel to clinical training, she started research activity focussed on the motor system and on autonomic disorders. In 2011, she was awarded the Venia docendi for Clinical Neurology at the University of Berne. Since May 2011, PD Dr. med. Andrea Humm is Head of the Neurological Unit at Fribourg Cantonal Hospital. Besides her clinical activity in general neurology, she participates regularly in clinically orientated research projects and in the training of residents and medical students at the Universities of Berne and Fribourg. She is currently a board member of the Swiss Neurological Society and its panel “Women in Neurology” as well as a board member of the Swiss Society of Clinical Neurophysiology.
